19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from March of that year.
The win also signifies he has won 21 victories at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an better service.
He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a tight third set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
